Connor is lovingly remembered by his proud parents Gisele and Glenn as well as his best friend and sister Katie; grandparents Jeannine Gaucher, Con and Colleen Gherasim; aunts and uncles Leona and Gary Frank, Colette and Ron Frombach, Nicole and Jim Filteau, Jocie and Paul Torjusen, Angie and Mike Lockert, Scott and Stacey Gherasim, Dean and Dana Gherasim and Lisa and Kevin Willford. Connor was the oldest grandchild of 8 in the Gherasim family and the second youngest of the 18 Gaucher grandchildren. Connor was predeceased by his grandfather Roger Gaucher.
Connor attended St. Marguerite Bourgeoys School and graduated from Miller High School, Regina, SK. He obtained a B.A. History from the U of R and was planning to pursue a degree in social work where his caring and empathetic nature could help others.
From a very young age, Connor had a great talent for creative writing and continued to write stories and poems throughout his life. He played soccer for many years with both REU and Ginga, where he made many friends and traveled to many tournaments. As a young boy he was a Montreal Canadiens fan, but the NFL eventually replaced hockey and he was a staunch New York Giants fan. Rarely was there a day that he and his Dad didn’t chat about all of the NFL news. Connor was passionate about chess and studied the game, eventually travelling to and participating in a couple of Canadian tournaments. Connor developed a keen interest in cooking; he loved trying new recipes, especially vegan and vegetarian meals (much to his Dad’s chagrin!). He and his Mom enjoyed much time together in the kitchen, cooking and chatting about food. He was a devoted brother; Katie and Connor were each other’s biggest supporters and were truly best friends.
Connor was a funny guy; he was witty and always ready with a dry remark. He made us laugh on a daily basis and we will miss his sense of humor and perfect timing. Connor was selfless to a fault and always thinking of others.
A Celebration of Connor’s Life will be held on Friday, March 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Mary’s Parish Hall, 2020 Winnipeg Street, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations to Carmichael Outreach or Bright Eyes Dog Rescue may be made in memory of Connor.
