May 5, 2023
It is with our deepest sadness that the family of Greg Hender announce his sudden and unexpected passing on Friday, May 5, 2023. Greg, a husband, father and friend, lived a full life with a passion for the outdoors. Pheasant hunting with his best four-legged companions, Copper and Axel, was one of the many seasonal activities Greg enjoyed. Greg fulfilled his life-long dream of building the family cabin up north where his love of snowmobiling, ATVing, hunting and fishing were shared not only by him, but by his family and friends for years. There was no place Greg would rather be - riding the trails, running the dogs, stoking the fire, working on the never-ending chore list and playing many, many games of crib.
Ultimately, he was most proud of his family, especially Jared and Vanessa.
Greg is survived by his loving wife Cheryl of 28 years; his son Jared and daughter Vanessa; and honourary daughter Taurelle. He will be deeply missed by his dogs Copper and Axel. He also leaves behind his sisters Barb (Joe) and Donna-Lynn; sister-in-law Janet (Brad); as well as extended family and many friends.
It brings peace to the family knowing Greg passed at the place he loved the most, the cabin, with his son by his side.
To honour Greg’s wishes, there will be no service. A private family celebration will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Greg’s memory to the Saskatchewan Snowmobile Association, P.O. Box 533, Regina Beach, SK S0G 4C0.
