November 2, 2023
We are saddened to announce the passing of Margaret on November 2, 2023, age 95 years, at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Francis in 1996; parents Russell and Gertie Lanktree; brother Harold (Vina) Lanktree, sister Ruth (Orville) Dickie, brother Percy Lanktree; nephews Byron Dickie, David Lanktree, Eric Lanktree and Lloyd Turner.
Margaret is survived by son Keith, daughter Donna, granddaughter Amanda; sister-in-law Marg Lanktree; nieces and nephews Russ (Jackie) Dickie, Brian (Carrie) Lanktree, Ed (Charlene) Lanktree, Leanne (Terry) Schroh, Carol (Lyndon) Turner, Lynda (John) Irvine and their families.
Margaret grew up in Carlyle, Saskatchewan during the 1930’s where the values of hard work, determination and cooperation from this time would follow her for the rest of her life.
Margaret married Francis in 1953 where they started life together on the family farm. Family, farming and friends in the community of Lewvan were the focus of her life for the next 43 years. With Francis’s death, Margaret moved to Regina in 1996 where wonderful friends and neighbours made an easy adjustment.
The birth of granddaughter Amanda in 2000 completed her life. She had a great amount of love and pride watching Amanda’s first words and steps and watching her grow up and graduate and start her career.
Margaret was very independent and was proud she was able to live independently in her own house up until her passing.
A life well lived, not to be forgotten. We love you and are comforted knowing you are with your family and friends again. At Margaret’s request, a private family service was held. Flowers gratefully declined. Please make a donation to a charity of your choice in memory of her if desired.

Dearest Keith, Donna and Amanda I am saddened to learn of your Mom’s passing and I’m sending my heartfelt sympathy to each of you. I have such fond memories of your Mom and the contributions she made to our “Lewvan Community” and way of life. From Pleasant View Church, community bridal showers, the school, the rink, staying with your family when my parents took a trip to Ontario, the sincerity, caring and compassion each of you showed my family when Carol was in hospital the last time. It is these memories of “days gone by”, that have become the foundation of my life. Thank you Margaret, you will be missed, rest in peace dear lady. Healing hugs from Rich and Julie (Farr) Morley

To Keith, Donna and Amanda: On behalf of the family of John (deceased, 2018) & Irene O’Byrne, formerly of Lewvan, we offer our deepest condolences on the passing of your mother/grandmother. We are particularly saddened because we have lost yet another respected, former member of the Lewvan and area community. It was a community that served as a wonderful backdrop for "us “kids” who grew up there in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Your mom and dad served as fine examples of the people who made up this small prairie community where kindness, caring and consideration always extended well beyond their own immediate families.
With our sympathy Irene O’Byrne, Louise (Tetreault), Val (Warnock), Dennis and Mark
We are always available and on call 24/7.
