Obituaries

It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of William (Bill) on April 29, 2023 at the Regina General Hospital, Regina, SK at the age of 71. He was predeceased by his parents Lyall and Anne Dunning and his sister Dianne McGregor.

Left to celebrate William’s life are his children Leana (Mike) Sterling and Allan Dunning (Megan); grandchildren Emily, Jaxxen and Christopher Sterling; his twin brother Robert Dunning; as well as his nephews David and Rodney Fial.

William was born on July 10, 1951 in Summerside, PEI. His family lived in different places, including Germany as their father was in the Canadian Air Forces, settling in Winnipeg, MB. Bill completed his schooling. After completing University his financial career included Bank of Montreal, Treasury Branches of Alberta, three Credit Unions and last being Farm Credit in Regina, Winnipeg and Melville, SK, retiring to Courtenay, BC. He lived in many places over his career.

William was an avid golfer and shot a hole in one at a tournament. He loved all sports especially hockey. Bill and his brother played AA hockey growing up as teens. He played church league as an adult and coached his son for many years. William also loved planning his portfolio. Bill never hung his hat in one place for long; moving residences until the end of his life.

The family would like to thank the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at the Cardiac Care Unit and Unit 6F at the Regina General Hospital for their excellent care.

Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
